BlackGold Tattoo is an independent tattoo shop located in Prescott, Arizona, founded and owned by tattoo artist Matt Joannes. Our team includes Matt Joannes, Austin Stobaugh, Justin Ramm, and Sean Cavanaugh—four experienced artists with distinct styles, approaches, and creative strengths.

Together, our artists work across a wide range of tattoo styles, including color, American traditional, neo-traditional, black-and-gray realism, blackwork, geometric, mandala, and custom large-scale tattooing. We also take on select cover-ups and can help match each client with the artist best suited for their idea. Appointments, consultations, and walk-ins are available depending on artist availability.  

We believe getting tattooed should feel straightforward, comfortable, and personal. Whether you already have a complete idea or need help developing one, our goal is to give you clear guidance throughout the booking process and create a tattoo designed specifically for you.

More Than a Tattoo Shop

BlackGold Tattoo is also home to New World Disorder, an independently owned clothing and merchandise brand. Our apparel and merchandise are printed in-house inside the production shop at the back of the tattoo studio, allowing us to stay closely involved in the quality and creation of everything we release.

Located in the same parking lot is BlackGold Espresso, our independently owned neighborhood coffee shop. BlackGold Tattoo, BlackGold Espresso, and New World Disorder were all created by Matt Joannes and have grown together as part of one local family of businesses. Our focus across every part of the business remains the same: original work, careful craftsmanship, high standards, and a welcoming experience.
